What is a Short Term Missions Trip (STMT), you ask?
It is an opportunity to serve and to grow. The trip is often to a new environment that we may otherwise not experience. In addition to being part of a team and purposeful mission, these trips can offer you an opportunity to discover (or rediscover) gifts and talents, as well as, provide time and a safe place for you to reflect on your life, your goals and your purpose.
We plan our trips months in advance and have multiple meetings and events to prepare us for the mission at hand.
The work we do is important and purposeful;
- • It’s not a vacation.
- • It’s not a humanitarian or voluntourism trip.
Because of this, we have certain expectations for individuals who are looking to serve in this capacity:
- A big heart to serve
- Ability to be respectful
- Ability to function as part of a team
- Ability to develop new friendships
We welcome anyone to inquire about our trips. We know that God has a plan for each of our lives – plans that are for good, and plans that give us a hope and future (Jer. 29:11). No matter our upbringing, our past decisions, or our season of life, God is always there waiting for us. A trip with a purpose may be just what you need to spark (or re-spark) that relationship, or to provide you information you may need to consider or are curious about. That curiosity may not be a coincidence.
